Universal Music
Universal Music Group uses EQM to decrease development and support dramatically. Universal Music Group (UMG), the world's leading music company, develops, manufactures, markets and distributes recorded music in 71 countries, representing 98% of the global music market. UMG was challenged to cut IT spending by 25% while implementing a new business intelligence system. Their BusinessObjects roll out was a success, but a global flood of requests quickly bottlenecked at the IT department. Danny Matulessy, UMG´s Vice President IT Global Applications, quickly realized they needed even more control, accuracy and efficiency.
Mr. Matulessy reported, "Losing track would mean a loss in credibility among the company leaders who need this information to keep up-to-date in the very competitive landscape of the music industry. Without timely, accurate information, the time and money invested in the business intelligence application would have been a total waste."
In response, Danny implemented NOAD's EQM to ensure the procedures of setting up, testing, implementation and deployment were closely followed and completed accurately. EQM helped Danny's team to directly visualize system usage, end-user behavior, report usage, and universe status, which enabled Danny to reallocate resources to achieve maximum efficiency.
EQM quickly became the cornerstone of UMG´s BI implementation, and as a result UMG management is more confident in the accuracy of reports and figures, and the IT department can stay on schedule and keep spending in check. In short, EQM enables UMG to have a grip on the volatile music industry.
